Aftercare Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals well and looks its best.

I WILL:

1) Keep the second skin for 48 hrs. This protects your tattoo from bacteria, don’t remove it early unless it feels too uncomfortable.

2) Remove the plastic, peel it off slowly under warm water.

3) Wash my tattoo gently with warm water and fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — don’t rub.

4) Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion. Use only a small amount since your skin needs to breathe. Do this during 3 weeks, 2-3 times a day.

I WON’T:

  • Touch my tattoo without washing my hands first.

  • Eat pork, seafood and consume alcohol/dr8gs during the first week.

  • Do exercise during the first week.

  • Let my pets come into direct contact with my tattoo.

  • Swim, expose my tattoo to direct sunlight until is healed (+4 weeks).

Don’t worry if you see some fluid — like plasma, blood, or ink under the second skin during the first 48 hours. This is completely normal.

It’s also normal if your tattoo looks wet when you remove the film, or if you see some ink on the plastic.

During the first couple of weeks, your tattoo may itch, peel, or form scabs — that’s all part of the natural healing process.

However, if you notice fever, pus, a bad smell, or unusual redness, contact me and your healthcare provider right away. This is NOT common to happen, but if you have questions or are unsure about your healing process, feel free to reach out and I will be happy to guide you.
